Is there a good ab exercise for someone with a really bad back?

I have stress fractures in my spine and a neck disc that is out, but can I do anything for my belly? save lipo?

Crunches!

Note: Don't put your hands behind your head and you don't have to go so high.

a "belly" doesn't get fixed with ab exercises. a "belly" goes away thanks to a combination of a proper exercise program in conjunction with a solid nutrition regimine. if you're one of those people who is just convinced though that a million crunches will give you a 6-pack, try: supine leg raises with a reverse crunch at the top of the movement, hanging leg raises, V-ups, eagle sit-ups, woodchoppers, twist-touches with a medicine ball, planks, etc.

if you have a bad back, you also need to be working your back, especially with bodyweight exercises such as hyperextensions and supermans. add good mornings if your back is up to that task.
