do Ab machines really work on your mid section of the body?

do they burn the fat on the muscles

No exercise has any direct on fat. You can't target fat on one part of the body by exercising the muscles underneath.

You get rid of fat by eating less than you need. Your body turns to stored fat to make up the difference. Fat is used more or less evenly from all over the body.

Ab machines aren't especially useful for weight loss because they don't raise your heart rate very much for very long. The best exercises for this purpose are the big three aerobic exercises: Running, cycling, and swimming.

Yes and No. They do work the stomach muscles but if you don't diet and you have fat on you stomach it can make you belly look bigger. Diet is the best way to lose a belly along with an aerobic exercises.
