Why don’t I feel anything when using the gym ab machines?

I’d like to think its b/c my abs are so strong that it takes 100s of lbs of resistance to do anything, but if I do crunches or anything using just my body I feel it in my abs by about the 4th rep. When I use the ab machines in the gym I don’t feel anything, even if I put so much weight I can barely move it.

Is my technique wrong with the gym machines and is there any benefit in doing both exercises?

lets see
have you been working out your abs consistently or is this your first time. if its your first time in a while you are probably doing something wrong but if you have been consistently working out your abs then you definitely need to up your work out with more resistance or more reps, and occasionally throw in a new ab work out that your body is not used to.
