I have been working out for a couple weeks.I need to know some good exercises for my stomach and my hips.Had a baby 7 months ago,so I need to lose that baby weight. Also, what does my heart rate need to be when I'm working out?I am 31, weigh 169 lbs and I'm 5'6..Any suggestions?
Pilates would be excellent for that—the entire program is geared around strengthening and toning you core muscles.
Bear in mind however, that no exercise will reduce fat in a specific area of the body. it's just not possible.
You can check out the links below to calculate your target heart rate. Realistically it doesn't matter that much; if you are doing a cardio program like an aerobics video for 30 minutes and working up a sweat then you are training in you cardio zone.

Believe it or not, just dance. Most people don't know that dancing is a great work out and it burns much more fat than running or walking. It can also be alot of fun so it doesn't seem so draining like a typical work out might.
