Easily Annihilate Cravings For Junk With Green Smoothie Drinks
February 24th, 2010I strongly feel that it isn’t too far off to suggest that consuming a variety of green smoothies really does supply practically every thing that the body needs to stay healthy. Besides maybe Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D, I feel, these healthful drinks have it all (including protein). The trouble I had when I started on green smoothies were the unhealthy cravings. Learn how I conquered them forever.
I would like to start off by telling you that the information in this article is merely my opinion which is based on the information I have read on the topic of health in addition to more than a decade of living and eating the way I have daily. Couple that with my twice a year blood work that indicates no deficiencies, I think this information is valid. It could be that it just works for me, my genetic makeup and my body type, I can’t say for certain. However, just like cigarette smoking will probably affect each one of us with varying degrees of health negatives, green smoothies, I believe, will probably affect each one of us with varying degrees of health positives. Try it and see, after you speak with your natural, or other, health practitioner first of course.
The body was made to be able to heal naturally wasn’t it? If that’s the case, why are people sick? Perhaps it is in inaccurate statement that the body is truly designed to heal itself? No! The dilemma is that people today a) do not give the body with the right amount of tools, usually in terms of food intake, it needs to heal itself and b) we attack our body with junk that hinders the function of the limited number of essential resources that we do provide it.
I’m a big advocate of the raw food diet. The suggestion that heating food above a certain temperature destroying required enzymes that are important for assimilation makes sense to me. Beyond that, it is indicated that to get the most out of our food we must chew it until it’s completely liquefied. We have troubles digesting big pieces of food. Also, I feel that human beings can thrive with a a diet of primarily fruits and green vegetables, with the occasional healthy fats. In regards to healthy fats, avocados, soaked nuts and seeds is all I usually have.
My main meals each an every day consist of lots of raw fruits and greens in the form of green smoothies. Smoothies, being essentially liquefied, my body has no issues assimilating the nutrients.
A huge hurdle for some people when changing diets, and a big one for myself is dealing with cravings for bad foods. Like a person addicted to alcohol or drugs must go through a detox in an effort to heal, we pretty much have to do the same thing. The cells in our body are made up of stuff from the food that we have ingested in the past. The body may crave more of the same unhealthy foods that contribute to the makings of the individual sick cells in our bodies. With a drug detox, many times, dry sauna therapy is used to sweat the drugs out of the system. This usually helps to eliminate the physical cravings which could allow the individual a better chance of staying sober. For us, improving our eating will probably trigger the elimination of toxic foods as well which can be naturally removed in stool, through sweat and maybe urine as well. However, we still might having cravings for those foods while some of the toxins in our cells are still present.
I have found that right away after having the first swallow of my green smoothie my own cravings for grease, meat, salt, etc started to cease. After I was finished drinking the smoothie, the cravings disappeared completely and I’d be fulfilled. The issue then was that the cravings would come again as I became hungry. So I started to make certain I was on top of it and would have another green smoothie prepared before the cravings would reoccur, or shortly after they began. The cravings eventually subsided for good as I cleaned out my body. And then I started to crave greens instead!
Now, I would like to ask, do you want to remain sick and overweight or would you like to think about a healthier diet providing your body everything that it needs?
