Should there be a law for restaurants to have to show the nutrition facts?

January 19th, 2009 -- Posted in nutrition fact | 7 Comments »

there might abe a new law in New York for all restaurants to show the nutrition facts for every meal on the menu…. would you agree to this new law or not…. and would you want to know the nutrition facts of say a meal at chili's or T.G.I fridays or not?

Eating out is a luxury, not a right. While I would read them if they were available personally I think if you really need to know the nutrition facts of what you're eating, cook at home.

If fish contains "good" cholesterol, why do they write a high cholesterol content in the Nutrition Facts?

January 17th, 2009 -- Posted in nutrition fact | 2 Comments »

I bought a bag of Atlantic Cod Loins and reading the Nutrition Facts label I found that it contains 50 mg of cholesterol/17%.

Are they talking about "good Cholesterol", or "bad one"?

Or maybe I picked the wrong fish!

Fish contains high values of Omega3, wichi is known as "good fat" because of its capability of maintaining the organism younger. No fish is wrong, you just may see the provenience…..
I'm Italian, nowadays fish could even came from China!! Can you believe it?!? :)

How Come Restaurants Don't Give You The Nutrition Facts?

January 11th, 2009 -- Posted in nutrition fact | 17 Comments »

Every food Item sold in the store has nutrition facts, how come restaurants don't have them?

Every chain restaurant is required to have nutritional content provided for each menu item. The trick is that most nutritional guides are only found on the restaurants web site.

Does anyone actually read the nutrition facts or ingredients on the boxes of products that they buy?

January 9th, 2009 -- Posted in nutrition fact | 29 Comments »

I occasionally read nutrition facts, but not all the time.

i do. people don't often know that a small bag of candy may contain more than one serving in it. that being said, food labels only list the calorie, fat, sugar (etc) content for ONE serving only. you're taking in more of those things by polishing off the whole bag at one time in comparison to portioning it.

Is there a free website that can tell my the nutrition facts of a recipe?

January 3rd, 2009 -- Posted in nutrition fact | 2 Comments »

I am looking for a website that can allow me to enter in the ingredients of a recipe and then it will tell me per serving what the nutrition facts are. The only ones I can find have a monthly fee that is very high. Thank you so much!

I like to use www.fitday.com it is a daily regiman counter with nurtition facts and lets you create a shopping list. You can put all your activity in there too to calculate your burned calories.. it is an awesome site and it is free to use.
