Are the calories on a “Nutrition Facts” label of all food products given in kilocalories or calories?
this question is really confusing me & i tried searching it, but found nothing that could help!
i would really appreciate it! :]

on the nutrition facts it is listing kilocalories.

They use the word calories but it is actually kilocalories. 1 kilocalorie = 1000 calories. So you can see why they use kilocalories, imagine a pkg that we would now has 100 calories instead say 10,000 calories. As far as why they use the word calorie instead of kilocalorie, I have no idea.

if it is a kilocalorie….does that mean that if you are suppose to eat 1800 calories a day that you are actually eating 1800 kilocalories a day?
