should fast food resturants be required to post nutrition facts in a visibal location?

why or why not?
thanks

I think so. Food nutrition information is required by law to be printed on food products we purchase in the grocery store, so shouldn't it be visible at places we eat food products as well? It's important to know what we're putting into our bodies and some foods are deceiving. Just because you eat a salad, doesn't mean it's healthy. Look at some of the stuff fast food places put on salads…fried or grilled chicken, for example. Sometimes, the burgers are healthier! If we can see the info, it helps us to make informed, healthier choices.

I believe so. Although it's hard to believe, there are many people who probably don't know just how bad fast food is for you.

Well I'd say that people who are not smart enough to know they are very unhealthful are also not smart enough to figure them out…and I daresay, care. So pointless as it may be, of course they should. But then by that token so should every (and I do mean every) other restaurant.

yes i totally support this. i think people know that fast food is bad for them. when they eat it they probably don't like to think about what is in what they are eating. if the nutrition was visible people would probably try to make better decisions when eating out. it also makes it easy to know what is in the food at certain restaurants. once i tried to get some information from dairy queen and they had nothing. then i tried again later and they only had nutrition for the ice cream menu. i know that people can just get online and look it up, but not many people will because they will forget, or not have the time. obesity is a huge problem in the u.s. and especially the state that i live in. i would love it if everyone, including fast food restaurants made it easier to make healthier choices.

Some already do but why mandate that fast food restaurants do it and not regular restaurants? Why the double standard? McDonald's already provides all that info on their web site as do most fast food companies. It is up to the consumer to be responsible for what they eat and to monitor their diet and exercise. That is not the fast food restaurant's job.

Resteraunts should not have to post this info where peopel can see. Maybe they should have to post it online, but not on the menue. Lets take outback for example, if everyone knew how bad the bloomin onion was, would they still order it. I hate to say it, but nutrition info is bad for business.

No. It does not need to be posted, but should be easily obtained. A recent survey shows that people do not really use the nutritional facts when ordering.
