How Come Restaurants Don't Give You The Nutrition Facts?
Every food Item sold in the store has nutrition facts, how come restaurants don't have them?
Every chain restaurant is required to have nutritional content provided for each menu item. The trick is that most nutritional guides are only found on the restaurants web site.

It would probably scare people from eating there if they are health conscious, esp. the fat and calorie content.

Actually, they do! You have to request to see them though. All fast food restaurants have them.

Cuz when you go to restaurants you are supposed to already know what's good for you or what's not good - they don't have time to point out all of that stuff at the restaurant so just choose wisely!

I believe if you ask them for it, they should have something at the restaurant to show you. Also, you can go to their website and see if it's there or request it online.

Because most people that go out to a restaurant are there for a good time and good food, and really don't care what the nutrition facts are.

The contents of that food varies constantly, as far as ingredients and amount of those ingredients. However most restaurants will offer a basic idea if asked. Some places even have websites, and others have it in the menu.

Well, it depends on the establishment. I know that McDonalds has that information available if you ask for a nutrition fact sheet. other fast food places probably do the same thing. AS for a sit down restaurant, I suppose it depends on the size of the establishment and if anyone there has calculated the average nutrition value of their menu items.

What……….. and run the risk of going out of business? People go out to eat because they want to get away from that for awhile, alot of the ''good for us news" is often depressing to some people

a little independent "mom & pop" restaurant probably will not have a nutritional analysis of the dishes on their menu, but a chain establishment such as McDonalds has the nutrition information available for the asking. one could even turn over the trayliner while at Mickey D's and find nutritional information…some menu items, such as the double cheeseburger, even have some on the wrapper.
also, where McDonald's is concerned, you can also go to http://www.mcdonalds.com , or call 1-877-mcd-food.
