What kinds of foods do you eat to lose weight and have more energy? - and please use "real world" foods.
One of the problems I have with popular diets and exercise/nutrition shows or books is that they speak to you as if they think you understand their nutrition lingo. Also, they speak of foods that seem "uncommon" - not something you would find in a local, small-town supermarket. I live in the "real" lower-middle-class world and I can't afford GNC and exotic fruits, much less find them in my grocery store. Please answer in "real world" language; tell me about foods that really can be found anywhere. And please keep it simple. Thanks!
ok to lose weight there is no real food that will start making you lose weight. but foods like cereal and rice will allow you to have energy through carbohydrates, while not making you gain too much weight. another important thing to do is to reduce you intake in meat if you are eating too much. however, its always important to get a little bit of everything. also i would start eating more vegetables and fruits (good source of energy) as well as prunes. and don't gorge on snacks…good luck.

let me suggest that you read the book "eating for life" by bill phillips. it contains recipes that have every day ingredients you can find anywhere and that aren't super expensive. the one thing is though, that he uses a lot of fish in his dinner recipes. these can be easily replaced with chicken or lean pork tenderloin which are much cheaper.

I find that eating very modestly in a healthy way only between noon and six pm does the trick very nicely…I try to stay low carb low fat and low icky-meats (like red, pork, cured)

Real world foods? Well the best thing is to run to grocery store and look at the fruits and vegetables. Stop snaking on anything other than veggies and fruits. A lot of the time, I do not buy more than two or three days worth of fruit. Also cook most of your meals instead of eating out. Only eat out once a week if even that much.
Also watch the amount that you eat. Most people eat way too much. A typical serving of meat is actually only 8oz which is small to our standards. Research sizes to get good ideas.

Okay. Cut out eating in between meals.
Only eat healthy food and cut down on Carb’s like bread, potatoes, pasta's, rice, cereals, lollies etc. These are the fat making foods.
Don’t add salt to your meals. Cut out soft drinks.
Then walk an hour every morning two hours after a meal and the same in the afternoon.
If you can jog in between both sessions you'll burn even more calories.
You should lose and continue to lose more weight as you go.
If you can cut out your lunch meal and replace it with a protein drink instead that would also help. Available in supermarkets.
As long as you can stay off junk food and eating in between meals.
Summary:
Choose a cereal low in sugar for breakfast.
Lunch can be a protein drink.
And all normal meals at a normal serve. Cut down on potatoes and only have small portions of these.

The easiest diet plan I can think of is to eat fresh fruits and veggies instead of other things. Also, switch from white breads to wheat breads, and avoid friend or fatty foods like chips or fries. Avoid drinks with a lot of sugar like sodas and cut down on alcohol, which has the highest concentration of calories of anything. Keep healthy snacks around the house like carrot sticks, apple slices, celery sticks. If you're looking to save money, plan your menus around the produce that's in season and on sale.

Eat six times a day. and drink 8 oz of water everytime.
Not everyone is hungry at the same time. I usually just spread this out throughout the day, but it is important to eat the six times a day and don't wait longer than 3-4 hours in between.
I eat 3 pieces of fruit a day- Usually a small apple, a small banana, and a cup of berries/grapes. Stick to the smaller sizes.
I eat veggies at lunch and dinner- around two cups each time. I love carrots, steamed broccoli.
I drink a glass of skim milk(8oz.) 3 times a day(usually breakfast, lunch and late snack).
I eat protein at every meal-
example
2tbsp of peanut butter- breakfast
1 large egg scrambled- snack
3-4oz of chicken, turkey, beef, or fish- lunch
1 string cheese- snack
3-4oz chicken, turkey, beef, or fish- dinner
1/2 cup cottage cheese-dinner
1oz of cheese or 2 tbsp of peanut butter- snack
I eat a carb at every meal-
example
1/2 english muffin- breakfast
other 1/2 english muffin- snack
two pieces of whole wheat bread- lunch
12-15 wheat thins or other wheat cracker-snack
1-11/2 cup of pasta or rice or two tortillas-dinner
two full graham crackers/ or regular crackers-snack
Then you just find stuff similar to that and mix and match.
The main points are this:
fulfill your daily nutritional needs
stick to correct portions
and to keep your blood sugars level by eating every 3 hours or so and combining food correctly.
I also allow myself three fats a day
example
creamer
mayo
sour cream
Just stick to the serving portions
I use spray butter on lots of stuff, mustard, splenda and nature's seasoning salad spritzers. all add flavor. and have no calories or fat. Most of this stuff is affordable. I am on a budget and this is very doable. I also allow myself to have a special snack every night right after dinner. One cookie, or 4 hershey's kisses or actually I have kind of lost my flavor for sugar so I eat sugar free jello with Cool Whip. It satisfies me.
I have lost 30 pounds since March and don't feel like I have been dieting. I rarely feel hungry and I have to say I feel pretty good.
