I workout daily and eat a healthy diet, I'm experiencing steady rapid weight loss. What can be the negative effects of rapid weight loss? What can I do to prevent them?

I need to lose at least 50 pounds fairly quickly. I do a bit of strength training with free weights already, and I don't eat a lot of food. I don't want to kill myself, but I do need to lose the weight fast. Anyone have any good suggestions?

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I've been trying for years to lose weight. My butts too big, I'm a tad overweight, and so forth. What would be a good diet that I can follow that would show results with not only my waist, but with my butt as well?

Eliminate the "bad" carbs, -usually they are anything white, only as a general rule, and eat only the high fiber carbs-whole grains, whole wheat-read labels, even watch certain veggies. Exercise Always helps, eat 6 small portions a day that are mostly protein, trying to eliminate dairy products, cut out the fat and the red meat!By eating 6 small meals daily, this will keep your insulin level at the proper level and you will not be hungry. Buy a small book on carbs from your neighborhood drug store to better understand the difference between good and bad carbs and keep track on how many grams you are eating. When I lost weight, I was on 15 grams of Good carbs. Good luck, watch the dairy, fat, and red meat and I know you will do great. If you are diabetic consult with your Doctor first, or if you have any other health matters.

Does it help to wear sweatshirt when running to lose more weight?

I am running about 2 miles per day with the intent of losing weight. I put on a sweatshirt to sweat more–does this actually help, or would I lose the same amount of weight just wearing a t-shirt, and in theory, sweating less. Thanks

Wearing a sweatshirt helps eliminating only the water and the toxins from the cells, which is good, but the loss in your weight which you will notice in the first weeks will only mean that you have elimated a lots of water from your body.

I'm about 152cm (5"9) and I estimated 90 kilos (198 pounds) without a scale. I really want to lose this weight, it's that I can't stop eating, but I am willing to try if I find the right ways to lose the weight!

Hi, Jay, good for you for wanting to lose weight and get healthy! The website below has a section called "weight loss for teens" that will give you all the information you need to take off some weight fairly quickly without ruining your health.

It sounds like your biggest problem though is the motivation to lose weight. You want to but you don't really want to do what you need to do to make it happen. Is that right? I've sure been there myself! There's a couple of things I'd recommend. First of all, think about the difference between "interested" in losing weight and being "committed" to losing weight. It's a huge difference. You can read about it on the "motivation" section of the website. I would also suggest that you start keeping a journal. Write what you eat and your activity but also write your feelings. What's going on when you want to eat so much. Are you bored, upset, etc. Another thing you could try is to make a few goals such as, "I will eat three healthy meals a day and two healthy snacks." Notice it doesn't say how much you'll eat at one time. Maybe if you start "small" and add more goals as you go along, you won't feel so deprived all at once. For example, two weeks later, you could change that goal to, "I will eat three healthy meals a day of no more than 400 calories each and two healthy snacks of no more than 100 calories each." Finally, I would suggest that you might want to try a short-term diet designed for quick weight loss. There are several available on the website under "diet plans". These are designed for two weeks max. The 5-4-3-2-1 diet is my favorite. You can MAKE yourself do anything for two weeks–just power through. After you lose some initial weight pretty quickly, I think you'll find then that you'll be motivated to keep going on something that is not quite so drastic. The "eat healthy" section describes how you should eat long-term. Good luck!

The best way is not to do it "quick and easy". The pounds didn't come on overnight and they won't come off fast either. Combine mild exercise with a change in eating habits. If you take a brisk walk three or four times a week, followed by eating a slightly reduced meal within two hours, your metabolism will burn the fat quicker than attempting to crash diet…which never works well.
