My daughter just turned 1 and I am still very much carrying baby weight. I tried the whole counting calories and watching what I eat but that didnt seem to do anything. I need to know an exercise I can do to help me lose this weight.

Any ways to increase speed while losing weight at the same time would be good. Is running/walking an hour a day a good way to do this?

running is better option than walking because it will help you to burn calorie at twice rate.
have a ipod and run on treadmills it will help you to increase your running speed

I'm trying to lose my belly and man boobs. I already watch what I eat and I may start doing push ups and sit ups every night before I go to bed. I just hate running ive tryed and I alway stop please any tips to lose weight.

Eat lots of vegetables and fruit, and more fish and beans. Fish and beans have the "good" fat and help metabolize your bad fat for you. If you can and are willing to stick to a "vegetable" diet for around eight weeks and are faithful you will see great results. Also some exercise doesn't hurt anybody. Going for a brisk 30 min walk burns around 200 calories. Look for vegetarian recipes online to make some decent meals from vegetables, you do not only have to eat salads. I am currently on this detox diet for the last couple weeks and have lost a few pounds it is easy.

Tell your parent the you want to lose some weight and have them support you in helping you buy the groceries and making healthy meals at night.

This diet with added mild ( an hour 3 times a week) exercise is the healthy way to lose weight quickly. And if this does work for you it is good to stick to this kind of menu to help you maintain your weight in the future!

So no chips, pop, fast food and avoid deep fried.

OK, here's how it works in real life. For every kilo you wish to loose, you must burn 4000 calories more than you take in. So, you may eat fewer calories, or even fast OCCASIONALLY and/or you may exercise to burn off some of the calories you eat. It need not be running. Exercises like pull-ups, sex, & swimming all burn calories without using you leg. It doesn't matter what exercise you do, simply focus on burning calories, or not eating as many in the first place. By far, being consistint is far more important than trying to do too much for a short time.

well running is only going to make you and your body stronger

i would definitely start eating more (carbs, proteins, etc) to develop your muscles

you would pretty much have to run an unbearably huge amount each day in order for running to have negative effects on your body

just take it easy and enjoy yourself!

How to lose weight by running?

I'm currently running for my school's cross country team, and would like to lose 10-15 pounds. i've been running for awhile now but haven't really lost anything. how much should i be running and what should i be eating?

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

I need to get in shape for the police academy and I need to lose some weight. I'm running track in order to drop some pounds. I have a pair of dumbells at home. What can be a good workout schedule to build muscle and upper body strength in order to become better at doing push-ups and sit-ups?

Hey there, great question and i'm glad I came across it today. :)

I'm going to give you some free advice.

Contrary to what you might think, Low Fat Foods DON'T WORK.

You cannot lose weight using Low Fat Diets. Low fat foods have been popular for more than 15 years, but yet our society is getting more overweight as each year passes. This fact alone should tell you that eating a purely low fat menu is not the answer to losing weight.

Anyways, to be honest again, with all the "programs" out there today, many people are getting things mixed up, they are trying MORE than one thing, and NOT sticking to one program, and as a result of this..they're NOT losing weight…hell, some are GAINING weight because they don't have the proper guidance..

I'm going to recomend a book, it's not free, BUT i've used it myself and I still DO and I lost fat AND gained muscle……..in fact, after 30 days….well, you get the picture. :-)

I was going to wear a sweatshirt when I went running but my friend told me that in hot weather you will lose weight quickly while running because of sweating. Is this true?

you are losing water and not the fat that you hate. This is very dangerous as it can lead to dehydration.

To lose weight properly, you need to have a good diet plan that can be sustained over the long term.

The treadmill will work your lower body and tone your butt, legs and hips. Try to work up to 3.0 or 3.5 mph and do at least 30 min 4-5 times a week…more is good too! You should watch your calorie intake and if you want to tone your upper body as well, use hand weights while you are walking. In a month you should definately see results.
