my period is SUPER DEE DUPER LATE… but i’ve never had sex… ?!?

Ok, I’m 18 and I got my first period when I was 11. Awesome. I’ve been pretty regular for a WHILE… now, all the sudden, for the last two periods, I’ve been WAY late. My last one was about a week late, now this one is about a whole MONTH late. I still haven’t gotten it yet. What gives? Ok, I know it could be stress related, since I just moved away from home and started college and all, but I really don’t feel that stressed out. I had a few breakdowns in the beginning but that was about a month or so ago. I’ve also gained 10 pounds in a month (because I’ve been conditioning for my sport and building muscle mass) but I heard that weight only affects a period when it’s been a rapid weight loss, not a weight gain.

last week I had some cramps and some brownish, reddish spotting, and one day there was definitely some blood when I went pee, but then that was it, no more after that. What’s going on? I’m not on any birth control pills, though I’m about to start once I get this super duper late period… whenever it decides to come… GAHHHH… what’s going on? anybody else have this problem?
oh, and there's pretty much a zero chance of pregnancy or whatever, considering I've never done anything with a guy/fooled around with a guy…

Your workouts might be the problem. If your body fat is too low or if you are training super hard, it can cause you to miss your period. Go into health services and ask for a second opinion.

see a doctor, your hormones may be off. birth control may help fix the problem even if you aren’t sexually active.

every woman is irregular sometime in her life. ive had my period for 10 years now and sometimes i miss a month or two. likely it is stress related as you already guessed, or a number of other reasons such as weight loss/gain or perhaps iron deficiency. its likely theres nothing wrong but if you are very concerned, go have your doc check it out.

i agree with the first answer. low body fat. muscle is heavier than fat; has like your body (waister, hip, bust) measurments gotten smaller? so yeah that might be why.

but yeah i’d say wait another few more weeks or so cause sometimes periods are like totally random, i didn’t have mine for almsot a month for absolutely no reason. i tend to get cramps when i’m supposed to get my periods but sometimes they come like a week later or something.

go see your doctor after or if your still worried. its always the best thing.
