Can just running help you lose weight?

01.04.09

If I just ran on my treadmill every day, will I lose all the weight that I need to? Or must I do a different range of exercises?
I'm eating healthy as well and watching my calories. About 1500 a day.

Yes, running will definitley help you lose weight. If you run every day at moderation, yes, it will make a difference. Especially your legs will be more muscular and you'll be leaner, swifter and have more energy. Don't run too much though, because that could be dangerous. I recommend running and yoga because running requires energy and good cardio, and yoga can help you unwind, balance, and improves flexibility.

Any exercise helps but it doesn't do anything if as soon as you get off of your treadmill you have half-a-dozen doughnuts.

I would say yes if you change your eating habits as well. you will not loose any weight if you eat like a pig all day and then to any kind of exercise.

I'm pretty sure just running will do it just make sure you spend at least 30 minutes or more on the treadmill running at a fairly fast pace. You also should make sure you are eating in moderation with a slight attempt to eat healthy and other exercises won't hurt such as abs work but you can get the same results with just running.

You are better off doing some sort of resistance training first. If you must run you should do interval running. Otherwise you will have to keep running more to see more results or keep cutting more calories.
My bet is your knees and joints will discourage you from running at all before you reach your goal.

The pattern for losing weight is not difficult - consume less food and exercise more - the difficulties arise when we actually try to put that into practice! There are lots of opportunities to fail in the real world don't you think?! I learned some good help by following the web resource in the box below, they have lots of tips and tricks, I worked off 7 pounds by following their helpful advice.

You have to burn more calories than you take in period. Running, walking, cycling. What ever. Just as long as you burn more calories than you take in at the end of the day.

You can loose Weight be just eating the right kind of foods. just eat lots of fruits and vegetables and completely eliminate junk food because they will starve your body of important nutrients. only eat healthy. I haven't even been monitoring my portions and it produces amazing results. A healthy cookbook and a little common sense will pave the road to a healthier diet.

as for running I haven't noticed any change before I changed my diet so that is where I would look
