How long to lose weight by running on treadmill for half an hour a day, and eating 1000 calories?

Age 18
Height 5'5"
weight 127
I want to lose 7 pounds to get down to 120…
I burn about 300 calories a day so I eat about 1300 calories a day and since I work off 300 I end up with 1000
Eating 1000 calories is a good way to get *ill*, not thin. Also, if you starve yourself, you make it *harder* to lose weight because your body goes into starvation mode and hangs on grimly to every calorie.
If you eat a *sane* amount, then the running should help you to get thinner by a dress size per month or so. The way to measure yourself is by size, not weight, since while you are getting fitter, you may lose fat but build muscle, which is heavier than fat. Measure your waist and ignore the scales.
Say hello to Mr. Finger!

I dont see why it would take any longer than a couple of weeks

Eating 1000 calories isn't enough. Find a calorie measurement program online and it will tell you how much to eat. If you don't intake enough calories you will lose muscle weight instead of fat weight. The calories you eat have to be healthy calories also.

you should never reduce you calorie intake less than 1200 calories a day. Your body will hate you and you will feel like crap. Eat at least 1200 kcals a day and integrate some light resistance training into your workouts as well. *hint* a little more muscle will burn 50 extra calories per pound of muscle than fat. So do both cardio and resistence training and you will hit your mark in no time. Good luck

Looking at your stats you are already a good weight. But I'd prefer you know how to lose weight safely instead of eating almost nothing.
The amount of calories you should have every day can be worked out with the following formula:
For Women:
655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)
For Men:
66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + (12.9 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)
1 pound is equal to 3,500 calories. So if you want to lose 1 pound per week then you need to subtract 500 calories from your daily total.
Because you are running on the treadmill every day you need to add 30% to your daily total.

Hahaha! This is one of those silly questions that people expect to find some "magical answer" to. I'm sorry but NO ONE can tell you how long it will take. All of our bodies are different. Do you honestly think someone is going to tell you, "Yes, it will take 3 months and 17 days for you to lose the weight." Come on…be realistic! Even a doctor or trainer or nutrionist couldnt give you a real answer.
Just keep at it and you'll get to the weight you want! Good Luck! :o)
